Sankalpa Rural Development Society

Sankalpa Rural Development Society (SRDS) is an initiative of one our own students at the Foundation.
SRDS helps farmers recharge their dry bore-well with rain water. Though the concept of bore-well recharge is time tested, it's not been practised by farmers because they are not aware of the right procedure to do it. SRDS works with farmers and helps them implement bore-well recharge.
Right now SRDS works in 4 states of India: Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Punjab.

Farm Pond

Initiated in 2014 by the Foundation and supported by the Sir Ratan Tata Trust, Farm Pond is a program that helps farmers engage in sustainable agricultural practices involving rainwater harvesting and conservation. This program has been especially helpful in facilitating irrigation in drought-prone areas with erratic rainfall. By improving access to water, farmers can now cultivate more than one crop a year thereby increasing their revenue by 50%. Since 2014, the program has rapidly scaled and we have created more than a thousand farm ponds that have impacted 9,000 lives.
